Hello, some time ago a neighbour told me she sent household water samples off to a state testing centre in Dublin but I can't recall where it was. For some reason I though it was in Dublin 2 - could you please advise or send a link as I have not been able to find it myself (only found private companies).

    Many thanks
    Roy

Hi Daniel - thanks for the feedback. However I was actually looking for the state agency that can test the water going into an individual house as opposed to an area. I want to check the impact of lead piping going from the mains to inside my house.

    Any advice much appreciated,

    Roy

    Hi onekeano,

You can find a list of accredited testing facilities at: http://www.inab.ie/Directory-of-Accredited-Bodies/Laboratory-Accreditation/Testing/

There is also some information regarding lead piping available on our website: https://www.water.ie/projects-plans/lead-mitigation-plan/faqs/

This website may also provide some relevant information: http://www.housing.gov.ie/water/water-quality/water

However, there are no state bodies responsible for the testing or the sampling of water on the private side of a property.

I hope this helps, if you have any further queries, please ask and I'll be happy to help.

    Thanks,
    Daniel

OP, the lab your neighbor mentioned was probably the Public Analysts lab which was in Cornmarket but is now in Sir Patrick Duns Hospital.
