Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

So I see an old thread on the Topic - here. Is that info still good?

Trying to find out for someone else who'd like to get into it. She's 23, guy in this thread mentioned you need a C1 and D1 driving licence, is that still correct??

Is it worth going to do this EMT course first?

When will the HSE be advertising Paramedic positions again do you think? Is it a 6 month course? Where can it be done? Outside Dublin?

    Whats Salary like?

I don't know what to ask so if ye have a minute could ye fire a bit of info here, thanks alot.

Edit:Does points/results come into it if looking to do it at 23 - mature student age? What sorta results are needed? Is the results in the ambulance training link above correct?

Have a good standard of education. Potential students will be required to hold a minimum of 6 passes, including maths and a science subject, at leaving certificate pass or honours level.

Does this apply regardless of age? Does having EMT done negate meeting these requirements?

Yes regardless of age a Phecc EMT will excempt from a science subject ONLY
If she wants to become a paramedic she must apply to the NAS or DFB for the NAS she will need a C1 driving licence also before application
I will add there is a course started this year in UL I don't no enough about it to comment tho
