Low heating pressure

I've got a Potterton Suprima 50 boiler. A while ago, I was having trouble with the upstairs radiators not heating fully. I noticed that the pressure gauge was showing 0 bars both when the system was off and on. I got the system serviced, and the plumber let water into it and bled the radiators. Now, the gauge is showing 0 bars when the system is off, about 1 bar or a little more when it warms up. Does this seem right? I asked the plumber about it and he said it was okay. The system itself now seems to be working correctly, but I'd expect the gauge to be showing something when it's off.

Note that the gauge is upstairs and not directly above the boiler. There's no gauge on the actual boiler that I can see. Photo attached; I assume that the attached hose is for filling it? Should I be trying to increase the pressure, or leave alone?

    Thanks

These boilers run fine with virtually zero pressure on the gauge. If its working, then just leave it. I guess you took the picture when the heating was on as the gauge reads fine. The black valve on the left is the filling loop as you rightly ascertained.

    I've a very similar boiler; 23yrs old ;)

Great, thanks. Just thought I should check because the Internet seems adamant that it should be about 1 bar in resting state. System seems to work fine generally.
