installation of ceiling lights

    firstly - i am not a DIY person. so please dont laugh at my dumb question.
    i am moving into my first home - new build.
    in the dining, the lights are in the middle of room.
    but the dining table is bit away from centre of room.
    i would like to have lights top of the dining table.

    how hard is to install a small chandelier on top of dining table?
    1. i have to drill hole in the ceiling to hang the lights
    2. have to get a cable for lights from the other light point.

    is this a huge task?
    its a duplex house.

    You will need an electrician to move an electrical cable - which may or may not be possible depending on the location of wiring behind ceiling.

    You may be able to do something like this photo which can work well.

    thats exactly what i was thinking...
    but how hard is to install/drill hole in the ceiling in the new spot for hanging the lights?
    i would need 2 hooks to be put in the ceiling to hold the hanging lamps.
    can we achieve that without damaging my ceiling?
    its a new build and i dont want to damage much even before i move into the house :-(

    What weight are your fittings? this will determine a lot!
