I want to run wood floor from front door straight though to large open plan room finishing against full length open wood window. Any ideas how I can do this accommodating for expansion but without beading as it will look terrible? The run is about 11 meters. I presume can't be glued? Thanks

What makes you think it can't be done.

Engineered floors don't move much and don't expand much. 10-15mm allowance either end wold be plenty.

10mm gap will look woeful though.
A very slim bead possibly is you can make it work with finishes throughout. A rebated window frame would be an excellent solution but a bit late for that.

Finishing strip at both ends won't look bad and will allow for expansion.

Thanks folks. Rebate as a good idea but probably not possible at this stage. I wonder if I left the 10/15 mm gap and put in the gap a strip that was flush with the floor. Then if floor started to buckle I could remove strip an replace with a thinner one?

If your using real wooden floors don't forget to let them dry out in the room first for at least 48 hrs so they have a chance to shrink/expand to the room temperature. I have seen a few people lay floors straight off the truck and few days later the floor has either expanded or shrunk because of not leaving the wood to breathe in the room first.
