It's a question that's been burning at me for ages, does anybody know what the difference is between the yellow packaged Ryan's sliced pan and the white packaged one. The white one is cheaper but is there any difference in taste etc?

It would appear the yellow ones are bigger

Is it because the white ones are far away?

The yellow is a heavier pan and the slices are thicker. How hard is it to read the wrappers?

Ryan's bread is the the nicest sliced pan type bread you can ate.

    The yellow one.

Try being colour blind, Ryans Sliced Pan all look grey to me.

Only Blue Yellow colour-blandness should have a problem here as one wrapper is white and the other yellow. The white will still be white and the yellow will be a violet shade. Never grey. ;)

These type of pre-packed pans like these and those from Brennan's etc are the worst type of breads imaginable. Especially the white ones.

Doughy, preservative packed rubbish that stays soft for days which is not how good should be.

True, but they can be damned tasty.

Prefer a freshly made brown myself.

Nothing tasty about doughy white bread. Very unhealthy too.

Eat the red and white one most days, they sell it in one or two places in Waterford and it's top notch.

I used to work in a bakery.
There were two brands one which was the 'premium' brand and the other
was the 'value' option. The premium option was 60-70% more expensive.
The bread inside was identical. All they did was change the paper it was wrapped in.

I'd never heard of Ryan's before, but it's been mentioned already that it's only available around the South East and Wexford, so I was going to mention Stapletons and Slieve Bloom bread which really used test my teeth as a child! :D

Normally I don't like brown bread at all, but there's a sort of brown bread that's almost green in colour that I'd eat it all day, can be hard enough to get it though, there was a shop in Newbridge I think is where my mother used get it, I can remember stopping off on our way up to Crumlin for it. I get it sometimes with a bowl of soup, but then I forget to ask where they get it! There's probably a recipe for it but I don't know what this kind of bread is called, so google is useless :(
