Would I be right in saying that if you cut the grass in the field using the above that it would provide the needed fertilizer for the soii? So could you use this on a 6 acre holding instead of using animals to graze it down?
The ryegrass would intially been haven replaced by a more traditional native grass.
    Tnks.

Why a flail mulcher? Just use a topper. Something like clover that fixes N in the soil would be better than just grass to build fertility

The mulched grass would be cut up sufficiently that it would decompose quicker. That is my understanding ?

Be better served getting an old disc harrow, give it a few blasts of that and put in some wild flower seed/clover. Do that everytime the current flush is dying back in blocks ie. 2 acres at a go.
There will be plenty of seed in the ground it's just the rye grass shades them out and has an antagonistic alleopathic effect made worse with fertiliser.

I was going to replace the ryegrass with a grass meadow mix.
    1. Kill off all grass, weeds.
2 Reapply killer in x months
3 Leave fallow for 1 yr to catch any further weeds
    4. Plant a meadow grass mix.
    5. Flail mulch that grass
    twice a year.

I was going to add wildflower mix but easier to just add the mulched grass to the ground rather than having to cut and collect as wildflowers need poor fertile ground

    Is that plan sound?
