Lads is there something like a plug-in electric powered pistol? More for home security than anything else? My folks were burgled recently (both late 70s) and dad is concerned. Gg or co2 isn't really a bedside option, any ideas?

I'm Not sure the legalities of such a thing, so I won't speculate as to what you should or shouldn't do, I'm sure someone more informed may turn up and explain that better than I could.

I'll advise you in the interest of giving your parents peace of mind rather than actual intent.

from a practical stand point, Yes there AEP's they aren't popular as much, but I find them more reliable. but batteries die, and leaving it charged on the bedside table won't give it much longevity. They are often much weaker than their gas counterparts and won't hurt anyone wearing clothing.

From a peace of mind stand point, I think a heavy metal gun, like a dan wesson revolver, (I see a few around here for sale every now and then) which looks real, might intimidate the burglar more then being "plinked at" and look the part, the reassuring weight would give your father a bit of confidence too, and worst case scenario it could work as a club should he actually have to use it.

You might want to have a discussion in the main airsoft section here

before committing to a purchase, as the mods tend to be very specific about detailing your posts around here.

NO NO NO..........What you are proposing is unlawful. Brandishing an airsoft gun (RIF) will land you in a load of hurt and will be no use to your family. Fit a monitored alarm with very loud sirens both inside and outside the house. The other solutoin is a dog.........rescue dogs are plentiful and great company.
