    HI

will be soon purchasing an engagement ring and just looking for any tips

I have had people tell me to haggle with the jewelers , as its nearly like buying a car from a dealer there is a profit margin , is this true?

im not great at haggling so wont be aiming to get too much off

    thanks

I just bought one recently, they all drop at least 10% off the list price without any haggling at all. When I bought one he dropped 10%, I said "most places seem willing to drop 15%", he then gave me slightly more than 15% off to round it off, it was as simple as that

The same as myself. OP it may also depend where you're shopping. I didn't have a clue and was lucky enough to have my now wife pick it herself. The jeweller and myself negotiated with no messing about. It's worth a try. The cash you save can go towards the honeymoon. :)

Be careful, OP. I lost a good drinkin' buddy there a few years ago. Got his finger stuck in a ring...

    :(
