Baby In Swimming Pool On Holiday - Advice!!

    Hi.
Just looking for a bit of advice about babies in outdoor pools whilst on holiday.
Our daughter will be 8 months old when we are on holiday later in the year.
Our hotel has an outdoor pool which I am told is heated to 25 degrees celsius.

I have yet to bring her to any pools or anything here yet as she is still a bit young, but will start that at around 6 months probably.

I'm just wondering a few things...
    1. Is the pool too cold for a start at 25 degrees for her to tolerate?
    2. How long generally should they be in the water (i.e. is there generally a maximum amount of time they should be in the water in any one stretch)?
    3. Would you recommend a wetsuit?

    Thanks in advance

How long generally should they be in the water (i.e. is there generally a maximum amount of time they should be in the water in any one stretch)? - touch her skin, check her lips
Would you recommend a wetsuit? - yes

Make sure she has suncream on and is wearing a hat with a flap to protect her neck.

Would some kind of medical professional not be better to be asking these questions of op than random people who read this forum?

Yes 25 degrees will be freezing. Waterbabies and the likes would be in 30degrees heated pool. Normally when babies are starting out swimming they would get tired after about 20mins at 4/5 months. So I would judge on your child. My 2 year old will spend at least an hour in the water now and has to be dragged out. Try going swimming in Ireland before your holidays first.

I'd be more concerned with the chemicals within the pool, some may have far too much chlorine in them which will irritate the skin and eyes, sometimes pool management in hotels can be poor.

Get the proper swim suit so no skin is expose to.the sun. It should come with a cap and a flap on it to cover the neck. You need water nappies also. Water temperature will be grand, we did water babies with ours but since temp is warmer on hols and water suit is full body one.
