Okay, this is probably a very stupid question but I just can't figure out how to remove an app from my phone altogether.

    Any help would be appreciated.

You need to go into the Play store and uninstall it from there.

Some android versions will let you long press (hold) the icon, and will give an "uninstall" option too.

If you find you can't uninstall it, it's probably bundled crapware that came with the phone (certain manufacturers do this!).

You would have to go down the rooting path if you wanted to completely remove these apps. But I would suggest doing a lot of research first!

Foolishly never knew you could "disable" apps. Thanks for that.

That worked, thanks a million. The holding down on it was only allowing me to remove the shortcut.

Nope, didn't work. No uninstall or minus option. Anyways, it's gone now. Thanks.
