    Hi All

I'm.currently with Eir and I have a poor but stable 4meg connection, I want to change provider as my bills are over 100 euro per month, due to over usage of my allowance and them charging for calls,

I can't afford my spped to slow down due to the amount of devices I have connected to the internet, so if is as to change to Vodafone would there be any risk of my line speed dropping, when you change provider is it just an administrative task, or do they actually do anything to your line in the exchange or do Eir mess with your settings to punish you for changing ????

They cant punish you. Its a regulated product, same for everyone.

Usually its identical, but there are two small risks:
Prequals get applied again, so if your line is really a 4Mb but currently set to 5Mb it will become a 4Mb
Some exchanges are LLU so speeds can vary slightly when the equipment is changed over.

    9/10 itll be identical though.
