movado watch

Hi,

My husband has a movado watch that used to belong to his grandfather. It's at least 50 years old and still working! How do we go about finding out about it. Age type value etc?

P.s would it help if I posted a picture of it?
He also has a glycine watch ( crap replacement strap on it that's about 30-40 years old that's not working no idea if it's the battery or more. Do we being it to a regular jewellers or should it be specialist?

Movado watches from that era have a big variation in prices.
A quick look on ebay shows some ones in poor condition going for €50 and some marque models, serviced and with gold case, going for nearer €1000. Posting a picture may help. There is no fixed value on these old watches, just what people are willing to pay. So best advice may be to look on ebay or other watch auction sites and see what movado watches that are similar to yours in design and condition are selling for.
Post a picture here anyway, someone here may know something more specific.

Bring the Glycine to a regular jeweller as your first port of call.. They may be able to a quick triage and offer advice.

He found one on ebay.com with the sub dial after I posted here starting bid $1500!

I love the glycine one, beautiful face, I'm heading to the jewelers anyway for a replacement battery for my own watch so might try do some research.
