What % Soya is in your ration this year. Our Teagasc advisor is recommending 20 %. I am using A W Ennis's 19% Ewe & Lamb but soya bean meal is 5th down the list of ingredients. Aurivo have 20 % soya in their Lactating ewe nuts. Any of you using them ?

Feeding them aurivo nuts here this year for the first time. Soya is first on the list of ingredients followed by maize and barley. Hope they do the job, should be starting to lamb any day now so ill know shortly!

Sounds a great feed. From what I hear there are few ewe rations to compare to Aurivo's this year. I get a great service from my supplier so I am reluctant to leave without giving them a fair chance to match Aurivo's Lactating ewe ration on quality

I wonder was Soya 5th last year ? They have Palm Kernel Expeller ahead of Soya which seems strange.

Have you contacted them to ask if they would match the quality of Aurivo's Lactating Ewe nut ? My merchant claims that I am the only customer questioning the quality of the feed. I only complained when I saw what other farmers were getting for the same money.

I bet a lot of feed companies hate discussion groups as they are a great forum for discussing rations. We have a VERY good Teagasc advisor over our group. He really knows his stuff and keeps a fairly big flock of sheep also.

I'm feeding the Aurivo 20% nut started lambing 10 days ago and lots of milk so fare. I changed from another supplier as they wouldn't tell me the percentage breakdown of there ewe nut.

Is TC your advisor I know him well and he had an input in formulating that aurivo nut as it was him who but me onto it.

Surely theyre required to label feeds and put percentages and ratios.id be nearly certain they do.

    ..

Great to have him in the area and the fact that he has ewes himself adds to his knowledge and credibility. All the other feed merchants have got plenty of opportunity to supply what TC has recommended but obviously are not willing to play ball. I am still waiting for A W rep to call me to discuss the ration. I was told yesterday that they will now up the soya content to 15 %. If that is the best they can do then I am leaving them

I honestly can't remember where it was last yr but id say it was further up the list. Cos to be honest its all i check is the top few!

Haven't got a chance to contact my merchant yet, never deal directly with a rep. But will be back to them on Saturday and will see what they say. How much is the aurivo mix a tonne?

The label needs to put the ingredients in descending order and the analysis of the ration. If the name of the feed is 'hi-oats' for example they have to declare the % of oats

    Aurivo's price is €297 delivered.

I do not think I ever saw % stated. I have the label beside me & it only states the ingredients in descending order and Palm Kernel Expeller is ahead of Soya in AW 's ration .

Aurivo's Lactating ewe ration has Soya Bean Meal as number 1 & the ration I am using by AW Ennis has it as number 5.

I will try & find a label from last year to compare

    I have found A. W . Ennis label from 2015

Unless my eyes are deceiving me Soya Bean Meal was 8th down their list.... Very worrying

The % only has to be declared when the ingredient is in the name of the feed. In your case the % of ingredients wouldn't have to be declared.

Yes all they have to declare is ingredients in descending order not percentages.

I know the aurivo has 20% soya bean as I wouldn't buy it until I got the full break down.

Price 290 a ton blown in paid within a month.

AW have increased the Soya to third in descending order which probably puts it at 15 %,,,,,
