hi,talking to driving testers that do cpc oral test, believe it or not most testers dont have current cpc as the RSA wont pay for testers to do yearly update, find it hard to believe such a well funded organisation is so stingy with the finances.being tested for a cpc by someone without a current cpc just beggars belief..what do you think?

When I was doing my D lessons last year instructor said there was a very good chance the tester would never have driven anything bigger then a car . It doesn't surprise me in the slightest that a state agency would have people who do the job from a text book rather then real life experience

Neverwrong The CPC test is just a question and answer session, what does it matter if he/she holds a CPC or not. They have the answers to the questions written in front of them. My 10 year old could do it.

Neris Strange way for your instructor to promote road safety. The testers must hold a licence in the category they are testing in and must have passed a high standard test in that category. I'm told these tests are twice as long as the normal tests with only a couple of faults leading to a failure. They are tested every couple of years. Also, for buses and trucks it's EU law that they have a 3rd level qualification in assessment. My mates a tester and he's always complaining about having to be tested all the time.
