    Run forrest run:

    raw

If that car is half as bad as the photos in the advert then I'd still run. It's for sale and cheap because it's probably past it's usefulness as a taxi or the owner doesn't want to put money into it which says alot to me. Imo if the car was decent or worth continue to run as a taxi then it would be selling for a bit more than that. It looks rough as a bear's arse.

How does this sound? I called up and there is 195000 miles so 313000km on the clock. Would it be a possible money pit with that milage?

Really could be a minefield. On the plus side, the clutch, flywheel and turbo will likely to have been replaced at that mileage. Plus I've found that cars used for work like taxis tend to be looked after a bit better than the average car as they need to be 100% all of the time.

The downside is that it'll be worth less if you ever decide to sell it. It could also have been badly maintained and has an impending problem hence selling it on.

I've had an ex taxi from the UK a while back with 220,000 miles and it was a lot better than most I'd seen here with half the mileage. The car now has over 300k and is still going great.

You have to have your wits about you buying something like this but I wouldn't dismiss it just because it was a taxi.
