Hi all, I have tried to get an accurate cost of VRT on a 2011 Nissanx trail tekna 2011 with 77,500 miles. Co2 is 168, Ive contacted my local revenue and they wont give me a quote neither will a NCT center. I don't want to buy a car and have it end up costing me another €5800 VRT. Can anyone help me get an accurate vrt costing.

    Thanks in advance.
    Ger.

There is an online calculator on the Revenue website. Check this first and make sure you know exact model and trim level.

if it isn't on there, you'll have to present the car for inspection and they'll dream up a figure for you. No way around that, if your model hasn't been done before

If you have issues with price look up carzone and donedeal and get examples of prices to go against their market price which you will be charged on.

Calculate on revenue.ie and if model not there put in closest and if high spec add more money on vrt as it will be more.

VRT website doesn't have a 2.0d Tekna model with Co2 of 168g. They have those listed as having Co2 of 190g. I found a 2.0d N-Tec+ with 168g and VRT on that comes in at around €3,800. The VRT stat code is 46987705.

VRT calculator hasn't the Tekna model listed. There are too may variables to try get a comparison wit the Irish Xtrail model.

I can remember back when you could inter the reg number of the vehicle and it would calculate the VRT for you.
