Anyone have recent experience of us pre clearance times at dub.?

I flew several times in 2015 and the wait times were horrific, plus it was hot due to lack of air conditioning. The queues were back to the stairs down to the cbp area. Has this improved recently?

Can't give an accurate answer, but Transatlantic growth certainly hasn't shown since, it's bigger than ever in Dublin.

Figure out if you're flying at a peak time or not first of all. That should give you an idea as to whether it'll be busy or not.

I fly to the USA several times a year, and I've never had to wait more than 10-20 mins max in Dublin Airport pre clearance. I always get to the airport super early, and then am sitting at the gate (after pre clearance) for nearly 2 hrs before the flights leaves.

Ok I would have generally been there around 11.00 - 11.30am. I used to wait in the gold circle lounge until they call the flight for pre-clearance so I guess that was the busiest time.

Massive queues with lots of people getting panicky about missing their flights. Then the staff start pulling people out of the line for closing flights which means you move even slower.

Last time I travelled (Feb. 13th) I was through pre-clearance in 5 minutes. that was at 8:20am. Previous time to that was 20-25minutes due to me failing the kiosk pre-check and being shunted to the queue with the officers.

At least with 51st and green behind the pre-clearance you can go straight down to pre-clearance and then relax with a cloud picker coffee instead of waiting at the gate.

Last time I went through CPB (early Feb - 11.10am flight), there was nobody ahead of me in the line - was directed straight to an Officer and was through in less than 2 minutes.

It would depend however, on whether there are a lot of flights leaving at the same time.

But better to be an hour early than a minute late.

You can no longer filter departures by terminal on the Dublin Airport website but you can on their mobile app. Beginning two days before your US flight, select the date, click on departures and T2 and look to see what other flights are departing to the US within an hour (before and after) of your scheduled departure, that will tell you what to expect in terms of queues for pre-clerarance.
