I came across a radio station this morning being relayed on 1395 kh MW (presumably by the people behind Energy Power AM). It was identified as GCR Digital Radio, broadcasting from Greystones. I thought GCR might stand for Greystones Community Radio, but, having looked them up, it actually stands for Garden County Radio!

The presenter on air at the time was John Power (FM104, East Coast Radio, Radio Nova). The presenter on air at the moment is Ken Doyle, bassist with Bagatelle - now listening on the internet. I understand he is to be followed by Keith Shanley (Dublin's Country, KFM, Christmas FM). The music spread so far is adult oriented pop and soft rock. Most of the live programming is over weekends, according to its websites.

Does anybody know anything else about this station? How long has it been in existence? Who is behind it? Who else is involved with the station?

Having checked again, I found a link to presenters. Other presenters include: songwriter Catherine Simpson and Atlantic Records guitarist Karl Schefter - they present "GCR Americana", Peter PA Antony (Radio Luxembourg), Telephone Bill ("Your Kind of 60s"), Peter Carroll ("GCR Rock'N'Roll"), Boc McCann ("Sounds of The Alternative Era") and Tony Doyle ("Your Kind of Beatles").

Here is the link - it's quite informative about some of the presenters -

i believe this has been going a number of years. i can't remember when it started exactly but the name is definitely familiar from years ago.

I'm very highly educated. I know words, i have the best words, nobody has better words then me.
