DIY Separation Agreement

Just wondering if anyone has experience of a DIY Separation Agreement?

Was 2nd time around, no children, no property (we rented), no joint Accounts now or policies in joint names.

2 yrs separated but still on amicable terms.

Issue is inheritance due to elderly parents on my side... need to get a separation agreement so ex agrees not to have to claim on any future inheritance of mine and vice versa.

We've talked about it and it's no problem... just need to do it.

Ex has small bit of land so would include my having no claim on that too.

Did phone a solicitor and was told c€1500-2000!!!!

Came across an Irish DIY website for €275. You pay and fill in the forms and get them notarised.

Just want to be sure it would be absolutely legally binding!

Any advice would be very welcome!

Get a solicitor, there is no such thing as no fault divorce in Ireland, and there is no law precluding claims on future income.

There have been cases in the High Court at massive cost in relation to this.

2000 is a pittance to pay for good advice in this situation.

    Hi all,

I could only find old information about a DIY legal separation.

Would anyone have a template to share with me, in no way that would make them responsible for my doings?

    Thanks in advance!
