Replace T90Z with T90SR

We have a T90Z in the downstairs bathroom which works fine but makes an awful racket so we were thinking about a T90SR so the shower can be used while the kids are in bed (the kids rooms are either side of the bathroom)

I've seen videos posted but is the sr really as quiet as is made out? Both showers seem to have the same footprint, are they easily swappable?

    Thanks

The triton t90sr uses a brushless motor. These motors are very quiet and have a much longer lifespan. Triton used brushless motors in the original t90 up until 1993 or so many of these showers are still running and still running quietly.
Search on YouTube for Mira Elite Qt vs Triton t90sr. You'll see how quiet it is

Yeah that's the video I'd seen, it seems very impressive but I didn't know if it was a case of the camera not picking up some frequency or something and it seeming quieter than it is.

    I got a T90SR installed a few months ago .

It replaced a T90XR (I think) that you could hear all over the house even with the bathroom door closed .

The T90SR is indeed very quiet ( it gives off a very light hum ) and with the bathroom door closed you'd be hard pushed to hear it running anywhere else in the house , the splashing water is noisier :)

I have it mounted on a block wall , not sure if any vibration will travel if mounted to a timber frame / plasterboard wall .

It was a straight swap , the electrics and water inlet lined up perfectly , and I think it even used the screw holes in the wall from the old shower .

Great, that's what I wanted to hear. I think it's reasonable to assume the Z mounting is the same. Thanks.

Chet, it is an exact footprint match, we had that exact swop done at last week !!

Did you get same water flow/pressure with new T90sr as with old T90xr?
I just replaced xr with sr and water pressure is a bit disappointing.

My answer to this is " maybe "

It feels like there is a slight difference but I honestly couldn't say if it's down to the shower or the shower head (it seems to be slightly different to the one it replaced )

There seems to be good flow (quantity ) from the shower but the jets from the head feel "softer" for want of a better description ( if that makes sense ).

The shower it replaced sounded like a tractor and sounded like it was about to explode , so I'm not sure if that had any effect on the flow rate from it .

    Sorry I couldn't give a more definitive answer , but I'm happy enough with my T90SR .

Thank you very much for your reply.I'm starting to think there might be a problem with my unit.
