Got a bill from my previous landlord a couple of days ago. 4 months after I moved out. He has accused me of by-passing the oil tank to the burner and is demanding I pay him €1500 (900 for parts and 600 for labour)

    What does this even mean?

Sounds like he is accusing you of working directly from a can or drum to fire the boiler.

Ask for a detailed breakdown of what he is accusing you of and of the labour and parts, so that you can run it by a "plumber friend".
    Seems ridiculous ammount anyway.

Please follow site and charter rules. "Resistance is futile"

Unless he has something to accuse you of....tell him to jog on.

i would ask him to clarify in writing what you are suppose to have done, the parts that hat to be replaced and why they needed replacing.

and if he has difficulty in this say a copy of the report the oil technician completed indicating the parts that needed replacing and what caused the failures would be a atart
