Waiting Time for an IEC Visa?

Hello, I applied for an IEC Visa on the 13th of February and it is still awaiting approval. My girlfriend applied around the same time and hers was approved a day later. We both have a degree in Product Design so my delay is probably not due to my degree. I also have a clean police cert. The website says it takes 8 weeks to process, so is it safe to assume that I will get my visa within the 8 weeks? And is it risky to book flights for near the end of April before I get my visa?

    Any information is helpful. Thanks

Wow really? They approved her visa in a day? It must have been a once off thing. I was waiting at least 4 weeks before mine was approved and a couple of friends waited about 6 weeks, but they applied a couple of weeks after me.

When it comes to anything State run I am always a little skeptical on their given timelines. Personally I would'nt book anything until I had the port of entry in my hand, although that depends on how much pressure you are under to leave in April.
