Knocking Chimney

    Hi All

I am just wondering if it would be a viable option to knock down a chimney to make space. We are starting an extension in the near future and were thinking of getting rid of the chimney at the same time.

It takes up a good bit of space in the living room (which is narrow) and the bedroom above it. The fireplace is blocked up at the moment and not in use anyways.

The house is about 10 years old.

Would anyone know a rough estimate of the cost of the work and whether it is worth the extra work?

    Thanks
    Barr :)
