    So is it Cat D?

Moot point maybe because everyone's doing it, but it's not legal to sell a uk reg car privately in Ireland. Is it from a dealer or what?

I'll let colm take the honours
Bit sick as it was for the wife and the new baba.
I'll wait for the dealer to ring me tomorrow and wait his reply before i name and shame him

To be fair, Cat D is the least serious category.
Doesn't change the fact that they lied to you. The dealer in question has another thread where a boardsie is taking them to court for selling them a cat C write off.

I would recommend the OP posts a screen shot of the report that confirms the car is an ex write off rather than just name the garage.

I will post all after i afford him an explanation to why he never mentioned it to me when asked
His forecourt is full of yellow regs
    I'll keep it posted.

If it's a car that has plenty of other examples of for sale, do yourself a favour and avoid the hassle of trying to insure and one day sell, a category D. I got a knock down price on one before and it was a lovely car at a great price but come trade in/sell time it was a nightmare.

You already know he's lied to you twice why are you even bothering to contact him again? There's plenty of legit cars and dealers so no need to be going to scam dealers.
