So I had a second interview for a company on Tuesday, which I felt wen't very well.

The HR woman responsible for filling the role called me after to say that the guys thought my interview/presentation was great and things were looking 'very positive' and she would let me know 'next stages' tommorow.

2 days later I sent a polite email inquiring about it, and was told again that things are looking very positive and that they were waiting for final word from the head of the company, and that I would know tommorow.

Tommorow has now come and gone and still no word. I had been feeling positive intially. Has anyone been in a similar situation and what was the outcome?

It can take a few days after the hiring manager makes a decision to push the approvals up the chain. I'd give it a few more days before I'd start worrying.

Was it Tuesday this week? If so, chill the beans, it's only 2 measly days later so far ...

If it was last week, then maybe there's an issue. Or maybe the head of the company hasn't signed yet because he had something more important to do, or his kid got sick or whatever ... it might still get it, or might not. Keep job hunting - ring and ask once more, but don't harass them by ringing after that.

Yeah I see your point. Im moreso just confused by the wording, as if I basically have the job and then told i'll definitely hear back tommorow etc. It's not a situation ive experienced before, usually you either hear nothing at all or get an offer

It sounds like they were pretty clear - you are a strong candidate but they have to get the final approval from the main man.

Maybe the head of had a bad dose of bum curry, and was sat plonked on the bog at home all day as such couldn't pen your all important approval to get the job.

Then imagine this when you probably get the job and shake their hand on the first day.

This is definitely the most likely scenario, and has put my mind completely at ease.
