    I'm looking to identify this plant if anyone can help? It's growing abundantly in a field behind my grandmothers house.

    Looks like linseed to me. If it is it is probably wild bird cover planted last Spring for the GLAS scheme. It has a very pretty blue flower.

    Interesting fact:
    You can use linseed oil to oil your flute. If you had a flute that is.
    My brother used to play a wooden flute and used it. Seals the inside and doesn't leave an odour
