Any more information on this? I am looking to trade in my driver and was going to go with American golf who are double trade in at the moment.

but it's the full retail price.

I shop in both recently for a 3 & 5 Ping G wood. McGuirks end up be 7 euros dearer for each club after the sales discount but I got to keep my old clubs.

So Amercian had them on sale for 279 each but McGuirks were selling at 239 and then 15% discount on the day.. not a bargain but a decent offer.

The deals on the trade-ins on the buggies are good if your old buggy is nearly done in.

Found the terms and conditions, trade like for like.75 euro allowance on drivers, but I'm not sure if that is "up to" or not.I would'nt like to make the trip to the store to be offered 10 euro for my driver,it would be worth it for 75 off a newer one though.

In American golf the new 917 that I want is 449 compared to 499 in McGuirks. In American they give me double the value of my old driver (its old!) based on the PGA club pricing website. This gives me 90 off the 449.

So I would need to be getting 140 off (30%) in McGuirks. Anyone think this is close to possible for a cash deal? Would rather keep the club as I can sell for maybe 80/90.

By the way I am confused with what the McGuirks offer is as I got no e-mail.

Sorry I am a dumbass was only seeing 2016 offer.

For me the offer of 75 trade in is not good as American golf are giving me 90. I would imagine that holds true for most people unless they are trading in a Big Bertha Warbird!!

American are going to fit me and all that for a good bit less so as Ollie would say it's a "no-brainer"...

I had assumed they sell them in the stores? Like the trade in for mine is officially 45 dollars. They would get 75 easy for it in a store.

The way I read it was trade in any old driver and receive €75 off any new driver??

    Scrappage would suggest that, no?

Ah yes scrappage,if only I could get 0% finance as well.

That actually sell a set of clubs 7-GW?????

I remember they started that crap years ago. Sets missing a 3 iron and their reason was nobody uses a 3 iron. Fair enough..... But I do.

Then they started selling sets with no 4 iron and their reason for that was you should be using a hybrid instead. Till I found out the reason was they were actually using the 4 irons as demo clubs......

    Hi seve
That comment is very unfair on mcguirks.
As someone who worked in many golf shops I can assure u they wouldn't both er using 4 irons as demo's.
    Reasons being
They would have to pay for them
4 irons are very hard to hit so would not help in selling irons.
As for ur 3 iron comment very few of us now use 3 irons but if u wanted one u could have just asked for one to be ordered.
Everything they told u seems honest to me and trust me I'm not their number 1 fan either

You can buy a set in any fashion you wish,
No retailer or pro will ever use a 4 iron as a Demo. Bad players irons 90% of sets start from 5 Iron.

Anyone happen to know it McGuirks take GUI vouchers ?
And if they do would/should they accept them as part of their scrappage scheme ?

I have a 50 quid voucher so could potentially bring in a pair of my old shoes that are in bits and get 25 off a new pair?... .

Yeah they take GUI vouchers and its as good as cash so should not be an issue as part of their scrappage deal.
