    Anyone here travel to Mozambique?

What's the story with Visas if you are travelling from Ireland?

Seems to be conflicting reports that's you need them in advance but because we don't have embassy we can get one in the airport.

I would check with the above and see do they provide a consular service for Ireland and if so, apply through them.

I'm meant to be there Monday so can't send off for one.

I would check first if a border visa is possible.
I'd still contact the folks in London.

I travelled a few years ago. I had to send my passport etc to the High Commission in the UK.

    Trailfinders were of great help.

Just saw your travelling Monday! Were are you going to?

According to recent posts here you should have no problem getting a visa on arrival

DFA website gives you a fair amount of detail - they recommend registering with them before you leave, in case of emergency.

I presume their recommendation to purchase visas in advance is related to the possible over-charging you were subjected to OP?

    (Enjoy your trip)

    Entry requirements (visa/passport)
Irish nationals need a visa to enter Mozambique. Travellers arriving from countries without Mozambican representation, such as Ireland, have been able to purchase single-entry visitors’ visas valid for 30 days at the airport or other points of entry.

However, the Embassy of Ireland strongly recommends that Irish citizens obtain visas in advance from the High Commission of the Republic of Mozambique, 21 Fitzroy Square, London W1T 6EL, telephone: + 44 (0)20 7383 3800.

The problem I found many years ago was that the UK HC didn't post it back. Had to be collected.
    Trailfinders were able to help.

I moved the meetings out a week, left my passport into the embassy in Johannesburg this morning. They won't issue buisness visas at the border, you also need an invitation letter from the business that you are working with.
    Flying up tonight to Maputo.
