Did I miss something, or did Michael not get a run in Clermonts game?

He played full contact in an academy match

How did I miss that? Must have been a short clip, next thing it said he joined the Captain's run on the morning of the Bordeaux game, and that was the end of the program.

It was a bibs match it'd seem fairly innocuous compared to what Shane Williams did

So after the kicking competition there was a match and a coach talking about him setting up tries and stuff

Ah, I see. I thought that was just a contact training session before the actual match.
Shane Williams did well for a lad who never played before.
It was very interesting to see the dedication of the Glenswilly players, and indeed their impressive training rooms, combined with the fervour and pride off the local school kids etc.
The Clermont setup was something else. But as the hobby of the Michelin tyre company owning family, the programs didn't seem to find the same type of "soul" that there was in Donegal.

I think it showed that sports people at the top level are naturally gifted and can turn their hand to other sports.

Both did well in their new sports. MM is built like a wall so with his speed and strength he would likely fit into rugby well. SW is very small, but again he is strong and fast and with some ball skills would fit easily into GAA too I think. The fact that he is in his late 30s made it even more impressive what he did.

Then again, I'm sure hes still very fit.
