Finding water/electricity pipe underground

    Have a pump house the opposite side if the farm yard to the house, going wiring and piping water to some if the sheds, problem is I don't know where the electricity line is underground to the pump house, should I just knock off the ekectricity And hope I don't cut the line or had anyone any suggestions?

    Do you know any groundwork contractors? They would/should have a cable detector. An hours hire for a man who knows how to use one would be cheap compared to the alternative.

    Or hire a CAT (Cable avoidance tool) from any local tool hire company. They will explain how to use it. Also shut off the power before digging.
