Very tight transfer - Barcelona

I'm travelling Ibiza-Barcelona-Dublin soon, and there's a very tight transfer window.

Scheduled arrival is 9.15am, departure 10.20am.

    Am I completely mad?

I've booked the most forward seat I can on the flight in, and will only have hand luggage which I'll do my damndest to keep with me.

Does anyone know the set-up Ryanair has in Barcelona - are the gates all grouped together, or is it like Dublin where they're all over the place?

I'm no Linford Christie, so hoping I haven't cut it too tight

Anyway, it's done now, so I suppose I'm just wondering if anyone can reassure me that it's actually feasible???

I missed a connection in Frankfurt I think it was......... 50 mins connection time, that was madness to be fair but the first plane was the guts of 50 mins late.

I flew into Prague on Monday, that flight was 30 mins late as the plane was late getting to Dublin.

"Scheduled arrival is 9.15am, departure 10.20am"

you need everything to go to plan and you have little control really, personally I wouldn't book flights like that anymore.

Yeah, I'll see how it goes - the alternative was either spend the whole day (or a lot of it) hanging around an airport or loads more money.

Might turn into loads more money yet :o

I'm hoping because they're early flights the schedule won't have slipped too much, if at all.

If it was all on the one ticket it might be doable. But since it's not you will have to exit the airside and reclear security so even if the flight is on time it will be very tough to make that.

Your worst delay is likely going to be getting through security when you are boarding the Dublin flight in Barcelona, there will also be some passport check too, if both of these can be done in under half an hour you have a good chance. Ryanair use Terminal 2B, what you should do it look on the Barcelona Airport website the next few days to see what gate the Dublin flight is departing from, should be there or thereabouts each day http://www.aena.es/en/barcelona-airport/index.html

Ryanair offer Fast Track through Barcelona for €3 when your making a booking, should be possible to add it if you sign in, well worth it.

Cheers for that, never even occurred to me that the might offer fast track at other airports! Tried to add it in the app just now, but I think I can only do it while checking in (??) and it's dearer on the website!

I'll have a go again when I'm checking in next week.

    Just to finish this off.....

Because it was an internal flight within Spain (or at least I think that's why) I didn't have to go landside again and go through security when I landed.

I did however have to walk a VERY long way, following not-at-all clear signs, stop at an information desk to ask where the hell I should be heading, go through a passport check which had no queue at all (thankfully) - and arrived at my next boarding gate with about 20 minutes to spare. Result!

The terminal seems to be absolutely huge, and is divided into sections labelled with letters - the departures screens in the section where I landed only listed flights for that section, so the flight I was departing on next didn't appear, which didn't help matters at all!

Anyway, hope this might help if anyone stumbles across this thread with a similar query!
