Why the discount for adding named drivers?

I've been getting quotes for my Dad's insurance. Just had a callback from whoops.ie and they said they'd knock €100 off the quote if he could add 2 named drivers of a similar age (60 plus). Why does this get a discount? I'm not knocking it, just curious. Adding me or my sister wouldn't get him a discount as we're too young…
