Thats like asking will I eat during the daylight hours during Ramadan.

Yes I'll eat meat on Ash Wednesday and I'll drink on Good Friday as well.

Edit: The penny drops... I had to google it but tomorrow is Ash Wednesday, hence the thread. For some reason I thought Ash Wednesday was near Easter.

I will be working and I will eat whatever dish looks the nicest be it meat or fish.
Gone are the days when the church can tell me what I can and can't do.

Don't call me boots, and I don't particularly think I'm great. Although I do make a mean pancake if I say so myself.

You're the one looking for slaps on the back for eating half a portion of chicken nuggets.

My 2 year old nephew does exactly the same thing.

Sorry but what f $_k. I'll be eating meat tomorrow because I want to. I don't give a rat's ass what day it is or what religion has a feast on that day. What I do find amusing and a bit sad are people who think it's great that they are great they are going against the church and they are great for doing so.

I have a tradition of eating a home cooked beef steak every Ash Wednesday. Thanks OP for the reminder, I hadn't thought of it till now.

I shall eat, with great relish, some food. Not sure what yet. I don't know what I'll feel like.

    Will that do, OP?

For most people who will eat meat today, it's not about being defiant.

Not adhering to a religious practice isn't a protest against that religion if it's something you generally do every day anyway. If people eat meat today, it may just be because they eat meat anyway.

Ham in a sandwich at lunch time and will be minced beef in a meal tonight.

I'm a vegetarian but make a point of eating meat today and Good Friday.

Had some leftover meatballs and pasta sauce for lunch and thought to myself "Yeah, take that Jesus!" with every bite.

I'm some tough man I am. I shoot from the hip and call it like it is.
