Hi All, Just wondering is a surveyor necessary on a new build? and if it's done before or after contracts are signed?

Your bank may insist on one just before mortgage is drawn down.

We have the valuation report done by the bank but I was wondering do we need to get a full independent surveyor or is the homebond guarantee and snagging sufficient?
