Hi, over the last few years I have gotten a number of treatments done and am wondering if there is any tax relief available, and how I would go about claiming it, do I need form from dentist or just recept?

    The treatments were:

2014: 3no wisdom teeth removed by dentist under local anesthetic.

2015: broken tooth removed and 2no implants fitted

    2016: crowns fitted to implants.

All work carried out in Dublin

20% relief. You need a med 2 form filled out.

Easiest way to claim is on PAYE anytime (on revenue.ie) generally payment is about a week. If not you can post in your form and that takes a bit longer.

There may be a limited on how many years back (one of the dentists can confirm)

The wisdom teeth need to be "impacted" to qualify (ie stuck in bone/gum and require surgical removal (cut gum drill bone and stitch after...)

Implants qualify if placed due to gum disease, not broken or decayed teeth... technically.....:confused:
Again crowns on implants the same...:confused:

consultations are now also covered if they relate to a tax relief qualifying proceedure.

They have really clamped down on what is covered and what is not. You need to have your dentist fill out a Med 2 form that you then send onto Revenue when you make your claim. Currently waiting on tax back for crowns I had fitted last year. Hope it comes through fast as Ive a stack of bills to pay and the next month is looking pretty bleak without that money.
Anyone any idea of how long it takes revenue to process this and give the funds back?
