Hi, can anyone suggest or recommend one of the many running groups I see around knocknacarra/westside/salthill area in the evenings. I know of the galway harriers but its already started and newcomers have to wait til April, so looking to join now if possible. Thanks

Knocknacarra park runs are on every Saturday morning. Think they start at around 9am.

Quick question would be what level you are at with running?

From you comment re the April start, that's with regard to Fit4Life and is purely from a logistical standpoint with the large numbers of people that there have to be starting dates.
They are probably doing everything from 12 down to 9 min miles or even a little faster.
If this suits you, it is a great place to start from come April.
In the meantime, as already suggested, Parkrun on Saturday mornings are good fun with all abilities catered to.

If you're already a regular runner and looking to get more speedwork done, then you're welcome to join GCH at any time during the year and avail of the club track training sessions. Plenty of people there at various levels, from the speedier end of the fit4life to national and international athletes.

+1 for fit4life, beginners can start any time, just let them know its your first outing. Meet them at 7om monday/thursday at the library in Westside.

Parkrun starts at 9.30am every Saturday morning in Cappagh park. Come a few mins early to get parking and the introduction talk.
