    Hi I have an ex friend that wasn't happy that I moved out he is going around saying stuff about me and giving me a bad name I have all the texts and messages of him admitting it can I have him done for slander

    No. It's a criminal offence, you'd have to sue yourself and run the risk it entails.

    Slander no longer exists in Ireland, it's now 'defamation'.

    Suing for it is risky business and only really worthwhile if you both have deep pockets.
