Underfloor and Radiators system

    Hey,

I've been doing up my terraced house which currently works off gas mains with 6 radiators. 3 upstairs, 3 downstairs. There were 8 going when we got the place but have since removed some walls and the extra 2 rads. I'm hoping to put in a wet underfloor heating system to replace 2 of the rads in the now large living space and keep 1 rad which is at the end of the loop.

Can the manifold be placed downstairs as the boiler is upstairs?

How good and easy to put together a system is this? I have a Vokera 24se.

    Thanks

My only concern will be how you do the transition from one room / one space on to another with undefloor heating heating only a specific space... you will feel the diference. Cover with UFH whole area/floor or none, otherwise your feet will curse your pocket later on ! :)

Piping could be anywhere, mine is downstairs but connected to boiler around the corner.
You will need a second pump for the closed circuit of the UFH anyway !
Manifold, will be sized according to your needs but allow for future upgrade.
Piping should be laid out in a proper way to allow heat to converge/dissipate side to centre to warm to cold flow return setup. Your installer should know that.

    Have fun.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I was thinking the same regarding the transition from one room to the next. The room downstairs with the rad is a relatively small utility room, the rest is open plan living and kitchen. The utility room will be knocked at some stage soon hence my reluctance to put underfloor in it now as I just think it too much effort.

I hadnt thought about the expansion but we will defo need another loop in the future so thanks for that. Your setup looks nice and tidy! How is the noise from the pump?
