Subtitles for TG4 player on Samsung smart tv?

I have a Samsung smart tv and I can't figure out how to turn on subtitles for content on the TG4 player. When I select a documentary or Ros Na Run, no english subtitles appear and there is no button that I can see to enable them. But when I selected an Arne Dahl episode (which I think is Swedish?), a button appears on the bottom right 'subs on' and I can turn on/ off subtitles for that episode. Anyone else use the TG4 player? My Irish is very basic so I can't watch without the English subtitles!
