Not sure I have the right forum...

I recently moved into an apartment and have been watching netflix on my laptop with a good broadband connection but I need to buy a tv and I know nothing about them. I'm looking for a tv screen that I can hook up to the "box" I have that streams netflix, popcorn I don't watch regular tv at all. Is it a "smart tv" that I need to buy?

I'd like to have a rough idea of what I need before I go to an electrical shop and get taken for a ride.

No doesn't need to be a smart tv at all to view from the box, just needs to have a HDMI connection which as far as I know all TV's on sale now would have. Smart TV's will in most cases have Netflix built in and perhaps some additional apps to but they are normally limited in updates and functionality and you would be best instead of spending extra on additional features just go with your box.

If you don't think you will be connecting many devices a TV with 2 HDMI's will be fine, if your going to connect an additional Sky/Virgin box your better to get one with 4 HDMI connections so you have spares for games consoles etc.
