Screen Quality in Dublin Cinemas

On my last trip to the cinema, (2D movie) I was bitterly disappointed in the quality of the screen. It was grainy, and there a noticeable light bloom on the top of the screen. Only for the kids were with me I would have left. My fairly average TV at home would be far higher quality and far more enjoyable.

What screens in Dublin are the best for watching movies and which are the worse. In general are the higher numbered screens just ones to avoid in cinemas for those interested in screen quality?

    Which cinema were you in?

Lighthouse and IFI are both excellent. The Lighthouse is easily the best cinema in Ireland.

I've never had any complaints about picture quality in Cineworld either but don't waste your time with its fake IMAX screen.

Vue is excellent too but avoid screens 1, 4, 5, 9 and 10, which all have very poor quality. Dark and blurry.

    Tks Vue 9.

Is that since Vue moved. I thought it used to be better. It was my first time over there. Was underwhelmed with it.

Whats the deal with the iMax? I heard it was decent.

Vue's 3D screens were always terrible. Their other screens are very good though.

Cineworld's IMAX is just a normal screen with really good sound. You are mostly paying for the IMAX logo out front. Most people go to it thinking it's a 70mm IMAX screen.
