The mother is after me to take a few lumps off an ash tree near the house.
My question is will an ash tree sprout again if cut?

Certainly they'll coppice from the stump but not from a bough usually. Getting a bit late for pruning with this warm weather. The Soil is over 8 degrees 10cm down. Unheard of.

Yes, but get it done this week or else leave it till next winter. Not sure if an older tree would survive it though, up to 30 yr old I have seen them re-grow fine from a stump 4ft above ground level.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.
