Are skangers held liable for unintended consequences of their actions(should they be)

Say for example, a scrote steals a girls handbag, and little did he know there was an epi-pen inside, on the way home the girl came in contact with residue of nuts or got a wasp sting, and ended up dead without her epi-pen.

Or a scanger steals a wallet, but the person whose wallet they stole was going to sit a bus or lorry test the next day and their permt was stolen ... they have to forfeit their fee, and resit their test at a later date, which could impact work-related activities.

Should we start punishing scum for every aspect and impact of the crimes that they commit and make them sit a consecutive sentence for each?

In this country a scanger would likely get compensation if they pricked their hand with epi-pen while the owner of it died.

I assume the victim impact statements (if applicable for lesser crimes) would help bring these points into consideration in sentencing. I don't know if they're done in every criminal case before the courts.

Why not. Couple of extra months community service would really sort them out.

Would using a Thunderdome halve the number of skangers or would we be breeding super-skangers ?

    It's all so complicated.

We can't even punish them for the actual crimes they commit, never mind the Minority Report style, unintended consequence crimes that might occur.

Em, not sure why you limit it to skangers. Any person may be held liable for unintended consequences. Think of the driving causing death offences, where the death is rarely intended and the entire act may be more reckless rather than intended

I think victim impact statements should be part of most criminal cases. I'd go one further and say I think people should be held responsible for stress related illnesses, depression etc. even if their behaviour was not criminal in itself.
I suppose that would mean turning the country into a complete nanny state though.
