Inset boiler been turning red constantly for 1 year?

I have a boiler which under a white sticker is named. '967 INSET DGF ASD'. I've lived in my rented apartment for about 5 years and once in a blue moon, the boiler would go off completely where I would have to press the rest button and the light wouldn't flash red for a long time. However, it was only until late 2015 that this because a common thing.

Now I always have to press the reset button to ensure the boiler is heating the water or else the timer could be on but the water would still be cold.

Does anyone know what the solution is? I tried replacing the battery (advice from someone who came to do apartment repairs), and he tried replacing it but I'm definitely sure that's not the issue.

    Anyone an expert on this?

Time to call in one, this type of appliance more than others should be service yearly as it's open flued.

No one is allowed to give repair advise here for gas appliances as they can only be attended to by Registered Gas Installers (see www.rgii.ie)

    Madness not servicing these....5 years...wow
