Returning to college and fees

I graduated from college in 2015 with a double bachelors in History and Geography and wish to return to college. I didn't do very well in my final year exams and didn't qualify for a masters unfortunately. I wish to study Archaeology but I have no way to get into this field. I'm not sure if I can go back to my old degree and re-do my exams to get a higher mark and then go onto a masters. Or perhaps do a PLC in Archaeology and go onto college again that way?
But due to the fact I went to college previously I do not qualify for grants or to have my fees paid.
I was also considering going back to college next year as a mature student as I am 23 this year, but I face the prospect of paying the fees completely.
I also have the option of waiting 5 years after I finished my graduate course (2 of which I have already waited) and having my fees paid for by the government and have the option of the grant scheme.
I am in quite a dilemma, I am stuck in a dead end job and wish to follow my dreams but the aspect of paying thousands of euros I don't have is stressful and off-putting.
Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated!

What help do you need? You have correctly assessed the options available - now you just need to pick the most palatable?

    As in:

Pay the € or wait until the 5 years is up.
