    Hi,

    Does anyone know of a lab in Waterford that takes 3rd level science students for paid placements/summer work May - August?

    What area of science are you in? the 3rd year pharmaceutical students in WIT do work placements over the summer so many of the companies who focus more on the pharmaceutical end might not be really looking for people. If your looking for something in the biopharmaceutical/bioscience end, you'll have better look as the WIT students in this area don't currently do work placements as part of their course. I'd suggest trying Source Bioscience in Tramore, I know that they have taken on 1st and 2nd year students for paid summer work, the research labs in WIT will also take on students during the summer but AFAIK its mostly unpaid. It might be best to just contact the various companies around Waterford.

    I would cold-call the HR dept in teva, eirgen and sanofi in the city; lake region in New Ross... all worth a try. Perhaps somebody working in these places might give you some advice.
