Hi guys recieved a letter today from fis stating they were reconsidering my fis payment for 2015-2016 as i had to be working 19 hours a week.
I work a total of 20 hours per week. Some weeks i had to take unpaid sick days as my baby was unwell.. now they are reviewing my case to see do i owe them money! Will i lose my payment even tho i work over the required hours or do i have to pay them back for weeks i worked under 19 hours? Tia

    Hi Funkyfifi,

Have you provided Social Welfare with any information or documentation relating to the weeks that you worked less than the 19 1/2 hours per week?

How often in that time period did you work less than the 19 1/2 hours?

    Regards,

Hey yes last year when i was renewing my fis they requested a tax deduction card from my employeer.. i explained that any week i worked under 19 hours was due to child being unwell as i was always rostered for 20 hours.. Id say out of the 52 weeks i worked 10 weeks under 19 hours and i also had to take a week off as my baby was in hospital.. i was awarded it for this year so thought no more about it untill i got the letter last week.

Any week you didn't meet the criteria then you weren't eligible for payment. In a week you worked less than 19 hrs would you have done more hours the previous or following week?
If you had 38 hours in the fortnight you would be covered but there is a good chance DSP will want to be repaid for those weeks.
