    Hi

could anyone point in the direction of a good company that does phone insurance? One that will actually pay out if anything happens to your phone? Ive hear bad things about gadget insurance!

Also, is there such a thing as buying a warranty for your phone? I got a new LG on ebay from the states, but the warranty is only valid over there.

    THanks,

    THanks,

Never bought separate phone insurance, always just added it to the house insurance and it never cost too much extra, maybe €30 or €40 I think.

Don't know much about buying a warranty on a phone, never heard of it but unless it was €20/30 I wouldn't bother. I'd reckon there's only a slim chance of a warranty fault happening so it wouldn't usually concern me too much to be honest...

Except that I did read that some LG models (G5 maybe?) had bootloop issues following an upgrade so I'd look into that.

What is covered under home insurance? Loss away from the home? Damage etc? A lot of the insurances I look at seem to stipulate the phone was bought in ireland

Yeah, make sure you specify it for 'All Risks' cover and you should have for those. Check excess too, bit pointless if it's going to be €100 or whatever.
If you did lose it you need to get a Garda report number but I think it's like that for all policies.

Never seen any reference in a house policy that it had to be bought in Ireland.
