Cheap office PC

Hi all need to build a desktop to run an accounting software and a cutting plotter that's it.what is the most basic and cheapest build I could do.i will need everything bar monitor and mouse keyboard.if someone could spec me up some thing basic that would be great cheers.dont mind if it's and or intel

Can be gotten cheaper on ebay, however this is an Irish seller including VAT and delivery, so if you can get a refund on the VAT it works out at a decent price.

Thanks for that but it's overkill for my needs and overpriced tbh.

Sorry you are right I'm not sure of budget say 200€ or less can it be done is what I'm wondering.i don't really want to go second hand as I'm looking for something reliable.as this PC would be storing company accounts that revenue could someday audit.

Second-hand parts aren't inherently any more reliable than new ones, they just aren't covered if something goes wrong. I'd actually be of the mind that they'd be more reliable, as they're proving working past the warranty period, and most most of the time, when things fail, they do so pretty quickly.

Best bet would be to pick up any old thing (like what I linked above, for example), and chuck in another hard drive to run RAID1, then have that back up to something somewhere else.

Windows alone would be roughly half of your €200.

You can put together a basic machine for €200ish even with a copy of windows but I doubt whoever has to use the accounts package on it will appreciate it too much.

thanks for that I'm sorted as I have a few win 7 keys.i backup the accounts programme weekly and save the backup in Dropbox so sorted there.tbh I just want something g dedicated to doing invoices and to run my plotter.Thanks for the build also

You _really_ don't want that build then, it was just a proof that you could do something for that budget but it's rubbish

It's a pain to really put together the sane cheap stuff on that partspicker site (there are cheaper case/psu options out there for the low power stuff and mindfactory will charge you €30 to deliver anything so I had to avoid them) but something like the following is a lot closer to sanity for a really simple cheap build that should probably be fine once the accounts aren't crazy:
